
Hawk Creek Campground and Boat Launch Closure
Hawk Creek Campground and boat launch will be closed to the public April 16th to Oct 6th due to the Hawk Creek Road Improvements and Stabilization Project.
Project work includes:
- Widening and paving Hawk Creek Road
- Realigning sections of the road and strengthening the creek bank to prevent future erosion
- Building retaining walls along the hillside above the new road
- Restoring disturbed areas with soil and native vegetation
- Installing guardrails and updated signage
The Hawk Creek waterway will be closed at the west side of the narrows, with no public access by road or water during this time. Additional information may be found on the Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area website at www.nps.gov/laro.
Fort Spokane Museum and Visitor Center Closure
The Fort Spokane Museum and Visitor Center is temporarily closed for historic preservation repairs and is expected to reopen in July of 2026. Repairs will be implemented by a National Park Service Maintenance Team who specialize in preserving historic structures. For park information and construction updates visit www.nps.gov/laro.
