Sid Morrison is Chair of the Executive Board of Energy-Northwest, a consortium of 27 public utility districts and municipalities across Washington. Their activities include generation of carbon-free electricity from nuclear, wind, hydro and solar projects, an effort that contributes 13% of Bonneville Power Administration’s total energy supply.
Sid’s distinguished public career includes serving as the Secretary of Transportation for Washington State from 1993 through 2001; representing the U.S. House of Representatives 4 th Congressional District from 1981 through 1992; and serving in the Washington State House of Representatives and the State Senate from 1967 through 1980.
Sid grew up in the rural Yakima Valley and graduated from Washington State College in 1954. Before starting his public career, he served as both President and General Manager of Morrison Fruit Co, Inc. from 1956 to 1980.
