Mitch Combs has worked for the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife since 1982 with the last 15 years focusing on conservation aquaculture on the Upper Columbia River White Sturgeon Recovery Project. Mitch manages Sherman Creek hatchery which is located on Lake Roosevelt near Kettle Falls and is one of two hatcheries funded by Bonneville Power Administration for mitigation of Grand Coulee Dam. Sherman Creek’s program includes artificial production of rainbow trout for the sport and subsistence fishery on Lake Roosevelt and conservation aquaculture of white sturgeon to aid in the recovery efforts of the Upper Columbia White Sturgeon Recovery Initiative (UCWSRI). Mitch is a Board Member of the Lake Roosevelt Forum and a member of the UCWSRI – Technical Working Group.
