2025 partial fire restrictions implemented at Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area

COULEE DAM, WASH – Due to increasing fire risk, the National Park Service will implement a fire closure at Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area, effective 12:01 a.m., June 13. This closure prohibits all fires on park-managed lands and exposed lakebeds, including undeveloped areas.

Campfires in park-provided fire rings and barbeque boxes, self-contained propane or gas cookstoves and lanterns are still allowed.
Visitors should be reminded that campfires should be less than three feet in diameter and three feet high within the established fire ring. Fires must always be attended and completely
extinguished with water before going to bed or leaving the campsite. It is also illegal to burn chemically treated wood, painted wood, wood with staples as well as household garbage including plastic and cans.

The use or possession of fireworks is prohibited at all times in the recreation area.
